Due to internal progression within the team, Venture Recruitment Partners are assisting an exciting and internationally operating business based in Chineham with their recruitment for an Accountant on a permanent basis. 

In 2018, the business took the decision to establish a ‘best in class’ Shared Service Centre based in Basingstoke. A project is now underway to bring a large number of global finance roles into Basingstoke creating a huge amount of opportunity for people to develop and progress their careers. Each team will be large and as the business continues to bring divisional finance roles into the Shared Service Centre more roles will need to be created in Basingstoke to support this. The successful Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Preparation/approval of monthly journals working closely with key business partners for the appropriate level of support
  • Accurate and timely month end reporting in line with the Finance timetable across international legal entities
  • Preparation of month-end analysis and commentary for management reporting
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations to support reviews with Finance Managers and Business Partners
  • Intercompany accounting and reconciliations, including an overview of group recharges and settlements in line with transfer pricing agreements
  • Maintain financial controls in accordance with group policies and procedures
  • Support the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly flash reports
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting information requests for tax return completion
  • Support indirect tax, local tax and ad-hoc statistical reporting
  • Liaise with internal and external audit teams

The ideal candidate for the Accountant job will have:

  • Experience working in a large, international business
  • Part qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with at least 3 years experience
  • Experience of month end close process
  • Experience working with new finance systems, preferably during implementations and stabilisations
  • Experience of process improvements and standardising finance processes
  • Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders
  • Proactive individual with experience working in a flexible and changing environment
  • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to obtaining appropriate supporting evidence

This role is primarily office-based, therefore you must be able to reliably commute to Chineham.
