Are you an experienced and qualified (or exam-qualified) accountant with a strong interest in inventory and operational finance? We’re partnering with a leading international business to find a Stock Accountant to join their high-performing finance team based in Basingstoke.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of financial reporting and stock-related accounting. You’ll work closely with supply chain, commercial, and operational teams to ensure inventory accuracy, strong financial controls, and continuous improvement of finance processes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting across international entities
- Supervise month-end close activities and maintain consistent compliance
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations and contribute to the audit process
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock accounting records, including valuation, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Partner with supply chain and operations to investigate stock discrepancies and support inventory accuracy
- Provide insight into stock movements, write-offs, and costing implications
- Identify and implement process improvements in inventory and wider finance operations
- Support the Finance Manager and collaborate with other departments to improve efficiency
- Mentor and support junior team members as needed
What we’re looking for:
- Fully qualified or exam-qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Solid technical accounting experience, particularly in inventory and month-end processes
- Background in stock accounting, inventory control, or cost accounting
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment
- Strong Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is a plus
