Accounts Assistant

Job Description

Are you a finance professional with AP/AR and bookkeeping experience who is looking to develop and broaden their experience in a modern, rapidly growing accountancy practise just outside Reading. With flexible hours, hybrid working (after probation) and excellent offices this role offers clear opportunities for development and progression.

The perfect candidate for this role will have;
• Accounts payable/receivable and basic bookkeeping experience
• Confident using Microsoft (Outlook, Excel) and the ability to pick up new systems (Xero and Dext)
• Great communication skills
• Ability to build collaborative working relationships and work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work under time pressure and to tight deadlines

Responsibilities for this role will include;
• Post sales and purchase invoices
• Manage accounts payable mailboxes
• Supplier payment runs
• Customer and supplier queries, and client queries related to accounts receivable and
payable
• Bank account reconciliations
• Day to day basic bookkeeping
• Provide excellent customer service

This role offers;
• 25 days holiday increasing by one day per years’ service up to a maximum of 30 days
• Opportunity to buy/sell a further 5 days holiday
• Flexible working starting any time between 08.00 to 10.00 with a 7.5 hr working day
•Flexibility on passing your 3 months’ probation to work 3 days in the office and 2 from home
