Accounts Receivable Manager

Job Description

Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a PE-backed SME based in Fareham in their recruitment for an Accounts Receivable Manager on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing a small team.

Key responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Manager will include:

  • Manage and develop the sales ledger team
  • Manage and own key customer relationships
  • Credit control for a small portfolio of assigned customers
  • Escalate customer payment issues and liaise with other departments/ undertake legal action where appropriate
  • Review and assess credit approval for new customer applications
  • Action steps where customer credit risk is increased significantly 
  • Month end ledger close and reconciliation 
  • Month end reporting – customer rebate accruals and bad debt provisions
  • Report sales ledger KPIs – collection success, dispute progress, overall debtors days
  • Process review, documentation and improvement
  • Ensure all administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner


The ideal candidate for the Accounts Receivable Manager job will:

  • Be forward thinking and able to identify opportunities for automation and future scalability
  • Have the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders in a professional and structured way
  • Be able to understand and analyse reporting to identify problems or spot opportunities
  • Have the ability to drive a structured and consistent collection culture within the team along with escalation support
  • Be able to step outside of your main role and support the wider Finance team when required
  • Demonstrate the ability to influence and challenge behaviours and processes in a professional manner
  • Have strong communication skills, both face to face and remotely
  • Continually demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Drive team responsibility and ownership of seeing tasks through to completion
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively and have experience in change management
