Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a PE-backed SME based in Fareham in their recruitment for an Accounts Receivable Manager on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing a small team.
Key responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Manager will include:
- Manage and develop the sales ledger team
- Manage and own key customer relationships
- Credit control for a small portfolio of assigned customers
- Escalate customer payment issues and liaise with other departments/ undertake legal action where appropriate
- Review and assess credit approval for new customer applications
- Action steps where customer credit risk is increased significantly
- Month end ledger close and reconciliation
- Month end reporting – customer rebate accruals and bad debt provisions
- Report sales ledger KPIs – collection success, dispute progress, overall debtors days
- Process review, documentation and improvement
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner
The ideal candidate for the Accounts Receivable Manager job will:

- Be forward thinking and able to identify opportunities for automation and future scalability

- Be able to understand and analyse reporting to identify problems or spot opportunities
- Have the ability to drive a structured and consistent collection culture within the team along with escalation support
- Be able to step outside of your main role and support the wider Finance team when required
- Demonstrate the ability to influence and challenge behaviours and processes in a professional manner
- Have strong communication skills, both face to face and remotely
- Continually demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
- Drive team responsibility and ownership of seeing tasks through to completion
- Have the ability to work collaboratively and have experience in change management
