Assistant Financial Accountant

If you are a part qualified Assistant Accountant looking for a role with clear development potential as part of a large team in a well established business this role could be perfect for you.

This role is primarily remote with occassional travel to Wareham required. The ideal candidate will be part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or have at least 3 years of high level, varied Accounts Assistant experience. 

Statutory accounts prep, VAT returns and fixed asset accounting are highly desirable and candidate with at least 2 of these are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts  including, but not limited to the preparation of year end reporting schedules in line with external auditors’ requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Office of National Statistic returns 
  • To support the Financial Accountant in the preparation of the quarterly NROSH submissions.
  • Assist in the preparation of all the group’s entity VAT returns, including submission, payments and handling queries.
  • Prepare relevant balance sheet reconciliations including VAT control accounts and reserve accounts.
  • Support the Project Accountant with the day-to-day maintenance of the finance reporting and budgeting system (Adaptive).
  • Support the Group Financial Controller and Financial Accountants undertake due diligence on acquisitions to the group.
  • Support the Fixed asset reporting team
