About Us
Our client, a leading global services provider headquartered in Guildford, supporting corporate clients across multiple regions worldwide, is looking for a commercially astute, experienced billing‑operations leader to own and transform their global billing function.

The Role
As Group Billing Manager, you will own and lead the full billing lifecycle across multiple geographies and service lines. This is a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function, building structure, governance and process excellence to support scalability and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain billing policies, SOPs and client-specific billing instructions to ensure consistency, compliance and audit-readiness.
  • Partner with IT and Finance leadership to assess, identify and deliver system improvements, automation and ERP enhancements.
  • Build, lead and mentor a high-performing billing team (direct and matrix reports), delivering training, performance reviews and fostering a culture of accountability, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Produce regular billing reports (bi-weekly/monthly), monitor and report key billing KPIs (e.g. billing turnaround times, error/dispute rates), and drive improvements where needed.
  • Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders (global account management, operations, finance) to handle enquiries, resolve disputes and support new client/region implementations.
  • Ensure all billing practices comply with relevant local tax, regulatory and client-specific requirements.
  • Support project work including billing system migrations or transformations, and any other duties as directed by Finance leadership.

Experience and Qualifications (Essential)

  • Proven experience leading billing or revenue operations, ideally in a multi-entity, multi-currency, global environment.
  • Strong understanding of billing systems, revenue controls, sales ledger processes, and general accounting procedures. Familiarity with ERP or billing software (Sage X3 or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience in building or refining billing policies, SOPs and governance frameworks.
  • Track record of process improvements and automation initiatives within finance or billing functions.
  • Solid people-management skills, ability to lead, mentor and motivate a team across different regions or time zones.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to interact professionally with clients, senior stakeholders and team members.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness, good judgment and ability to make decisions balancing business, client and team needs.

Desirable: experience working with global clients / multinational services, exposure to cross-functional collaboration (e.g. with IT, operations, global account teams), and ability to handle billing complex or bespoke client agreements.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary of £65,000 pa.
  • Hybrid working model combining office- and remote-based work (with flexibility).
  • Opportunity to shape and transform a pivotal finance function in a global business — with visibility to senior leadership and strategic impact.
  • Responsibility for building and leading a team, plus opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
  • A supportive, collaborative, international working environment with exposure to global clients and cross-regional operations.
  • Employee-centric culture committed to excellence, inclusion and growth.
