Finance Manager

Job Description

Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a nationally recognised construction business based in Bristol in their search for a Finance Manager, acting as No.2 to the Head of Finance. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of the preparation and presentation of management accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Work with the Head of Finance in producing weekly and monthly reports to Group.
  • Analyse and interpret complex financial information before communicating to non-finance managers and its impacts on the business.
  • Play a key role in the embedding and further development of financial systems. 
  • Joint Venture reporting on an ad hoc basis.
  • Manage, develop and coach a team of three finance professionals, all of which are studying.
  • Updating weekly cashflow forecasts.
  • High levels of ad hoc finance project work, as the business continues to go through a large growth phase. 


You will be:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with PQE, preferably having trained in an accountancy Practice.
  • Track record in producing concise management information.
  • Experience of implementing new processes and controls whilst challenging the quality of input.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage and develop an ambitious and dynamic team. 
  • Experience of working with budget holders to obtain explanations of variances to budget.
  • Experience within the construction sector would be beneficial but not a pre-requisite.


The business will be looking for the Finance Manager to be based in the office 3-4 days a week, with the option to work from home 1-2 days a week. There will also be the option for the right individual to progress into a Financial Controller role in the next couple of years as the business continues to expand.
