Accountant – Global Financial Reporting

Location: Basingstoke (Hybrid – 3 days in the office)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Bonus

We’re looking for a qualified accountant to join a busy Corporate Finance team supporting multiple international legal entities. This is a hands-on role that combines technical accounting, month-end delivery and process improvement in a global environment, reporting to the Head of Capital Accounting.

Role summary

You’ll be responsible for accurate, timely financial deliverables and for embedding strong financial controls across processes. You’ll build trusted working relationships with finance colleagues and business partners, provide cover and supervision when required, and lead small process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end reporting across international entities in line with corporate timetables.
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounting records are properly maintained.
  • Assist with preparation of audited financial statements and audit requests.
  • Supervise accounting activity and provide support in the absence of senior colleagues.
  • Partner with Finance Hub and regional finance teams to resolve accounting queries and support reporting deliverables and variance analysis.
  • Lead reviews of accounting processes and propose/implement improvements to drive operational efficiency.
  • Meet agreed SLAs and KPIs for the area of responsibility.

Experience & qualifications

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Proven experience with month-end close, management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience resolving accounting issues.
  • Experience working with shared service/central finance teams and familiarity with global accounting processes.
  • Track record of participating in process improvement initiatives.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder requirements.
