Financial Controller

Job Description

 

We are delighted to be supporting a global business in the recruitment of a high calibre Financial Controller for their UK business.

 

Reporting to the UK FD the role will include:

 

Financial Accounting and Closing:

Ensure high-quality accounting in line with the group’s principles and policies (IFRS and local stat books), ensuring compliance with local government requirements. Responsible for monthly accuracy and in -time closing of the books, ensure proper cut-off to allow analysis and performance monitoring. Continuously improve processes, in line with the Group template and reporting protocols. Responsibility for preparation of the statutory accounts in conjunction with third party provider.

 

F P & A:

Ownership of elements of the budgeting and forecasting process, in conjunction with the Commercial Finance Manager and Finance Director.

 

Sub Ledgers:

Responsible for management of A/R, A/P and Fixed asset ledgers, correct and timely VAT and Corporate tax application.

 

Financial Control and Governance:

Establish and monitor internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions to minimize the risk for financial fraud, application of group framework. Ensure that the management accounts team develops and fosters effective business partnering relationships with the business. Ownership of balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring that the team complete reconciliations within HQ specified timeframes.

 

External Audit:

Responsible for the successful completion, coordination and support of annual external audit including the correct external representation of the company accounts.

 

Cash:

Ensure liquidity of the business at any given point in time through accurate rolling cash forecasting and monitoring, ensure timely collection of receivables and payment of vendors in line with agreed payment terms, minimize write-offs and exposure to potential losses, analyse and summarize monthly development of balance sheet position with a specific focus on A/R, A/P, inventory.

 

About you:

 

We’re seeking a fully qualified professional who has experience managing a large team in a senior management position and for a global business.

Working closely with the UK FD and the HQ finance team, this role will lead the UK finance operation and therefore requires a business partner who offers strong communication and leadership skills.

 

Candidates should offer strong experience in financial analysis and insights; financial control and process; team development and leadership and ideal experience using SAP.
