Senior Accountant

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its global finance team in a Capital Accounting role. This role sits within a high‑performing corporate finance environment and plays a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement.
About the Role
The Senior Accountant will lead a small team of accounting professionals, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial control, accounting, and reporting activities. The role supports senior finance leadership and collaborates closely with wider finance teams to drive operational excellence, best practice, and continuous improvement across the finance team.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive, improvement‑focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate period‑end close activities.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations.
- Own and maintain end‑to‑end process documentation.
- Prepare financial and management reports in line with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee accounting activity across multiple legal entities.
- Manage journal processing in collaboration with site and hub teams.
- Provide information to support audited financial statements.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Track record in month‑end close, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Experience working across teams, advising on technical accounting matters.
- Ideally experience working for a large, complex business in a management accounting or financial reporting role or equally experience gained in a professional practice.
- Experience in Capital Accounting, IFRS16 or project accounting an advantage.
- Process improvements mindset.
- Able to navigate complex accounting challenges and a strong understanding of financial control frameworks and risk mitigation.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery and stakeholder management.
