Venture Recruitment Partners is delighted to be partnering with a well-established, purpose-driven private education provider to recruit a qualified accountant to join their finance team. This is a key role, providing vital support to the Head of Finance and offering exposure across the full spectrum of school financial management, including fee income, management accounts, statutory reporting, and reconciliations.

This role would suit a technically strong, hands-on accountant who values accuracy, robust financial controls, and the opportunity to work in an environment where education finance is recognised as a strategic function rather than a purely administrative one. With flexible working arrangements, this is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking school environment.

The Role
As Senior Accountant, you’ll play a central role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the school. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and reporting
  • Ownership of statutory accounts preparation and liaison with external auditors
  • Management of balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
  • Oversight of school fee income, including billing, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Support with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Assisting with year-end processes and statutory submissions
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and sector-specific requirements
  • Providing day-to-day support to the Head of Finance and contributing to process improvements within the finance function

About You

This role would suit someone who:

  • Is a fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Has experience working within a private education environment or school finance
  • Understands school fee income processes and education-sector financial practices
  • Has strong statutory accounts and management accounts experience
  • Is confident with reconciliations, accounts preparation, and reporting
  • Can communicate financial matters effectively to non-finance stakeholders
  • Is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to balance compliance with commercial objectives

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary up to c£50k, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working with flexibility (1–2 days per week onsite)
  • A role with genuine breadth, ownership, and visibility
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic school finance matters
  • A supportive, collaborative culture with focus on professional development

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine technical accounting expertise with real impact in a forward-thinking, purpose-led education environment, this is an opportunity well worth exploring.
