Finance Manager

Job Description

We are supporting an international services business with the recruitment of a brand-new role.

The Finance Manager will manage a small team, report to the FD and play a key role in finance

by preparing and analyse financial information so that leadership teams have reliable

figures on which to base their critical strategic decisions.

 

The Finance Manager’s responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, looking to make improvement to procedure and controls.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

 

Prepare and submit seven management accounts monthly

Review balance sheet reconciliation for the companies and act on variances.

To support the finance director in all aspect of financial management, including but not restricted to year-end audit, reporting, and projection.

Manage the assistant management accountant, ensuring high quality financial record keeping, controls and procedures that the business is well prepared for the audit.

Monitoring income and expenditure including preparation of costs analysis to help influence spending in the business units.

Overseeing accounting systems, procedure and identifying opportunities to improve these.

Responsible for quarterly VAT submission and FCA returns for 4 companies.

 

About you:

 The successful candidate for the role will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA, qualified, either seeking a move from practice into commerce or a progression to finance manager role within a services based business.

We’re looking for someone with advanced Excel who has led others and enjoys people management. Candidates should be highly self-motivated with an energetic, team-focused approach, willing to develop and cover in the FD’s absence, present to the board when needed and have an open-minded attitude.
