Venture Recruitment Partners are working with a leading Business Services Group based in Southampton in their search for a Finance Operations Manager. Reporting to a Director, responsibilities will include: 
 
 - Work with, and where required provide training to, the Accounts teams to ensure a strong control environment persists with well mapped out processes that drive core outputs. 
 - Assist in the development and implementation of tax policies, standards and templates to ensure consistency of good practice and compliance. 
 - Prepare and perform a first level review of the quarterly UK VAT tax returns. 
 - Identify and ensure that legislative changes are reviewed and adopted as appropriate in a timely manner. 
 - Manage, develop and inspire a team of 4 direct reports and a wider team of indirect reports 
 
 You will be: 
 
 - A Qualified Accountant, Tax Practitioner or Law Degree. 
 - Experience of VAT within a finance function. 
 - Have excellent communication skills, with ability to robustly challenge senior stakeholders.  
 - A naturally affinity for process and control improvements. 
 - Background in team management.  
 
 Due to the need to develop and lead a large team, there will be a requirement to be in the office five days a week.
