Group Finance Manager

Location: Basingstoke (Hybrid – Predominantly office-based)
Salary: Up to £65,000 + 10% discretionary bonus
Reporting to: Head of Group Finance

Venture Recruitment Partners is thrilled to be partnering with a fast-paced, high-growth organisation in Basingstoke to recruit a Group Finance Manager. This is a high-impact leadership role for a finance professional ready to take full ownership of key financial operations, shape strategic decisions, and drive excellence across the group.

You will sit at the centre of financial operations, managing month-end reporting, forecasts, cash flow, and payments across multiple locations, while coordinating with external partners to ensure audit, accounting, and tax compliance. Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, you’ll lead a high-performing finance team, influencing decision-making and driving operational efficiency across the organisation.

What you’ll be responsible for

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee payment runs and cash flow management across multiple trading locations.
  • Take ownership of month-end closures, preparing accurate consolidated reports and providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Lead forecasting processes by entity, comparing against budgets to guide business planning.

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

Compliance & Audit

  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely statutory accounts preparation and audit completion.
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with UK GAAP (FRS 102) and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee tax compliance, filings, and engagement with advisors and authorities across corporate tax, VAT, and employee-related obligations.

Strategic Support

  • Advise on the financial implications of business transactions, projects, and investments.
  • Support broader finance and business assurance initiatives, identifying risks and implementing solutions.

Bonus Skills / Experience

While not essential, additional experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Management of external bank loans, drawdowns, and reporting.
  • Oversight of insurance processes, claims, and risk management.
  • Exposure to tax topics such as CCO, CIS, or R&D credits.

Who we’re looking for

  • CCAB-qualified or equivalent, with strong experience in accounting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage month-end, forecasting, and cash processes across multiple entities.
  • Confident working with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive accurate reporting and risk mitigation.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing finance teams.
  • Strategic, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels.
